When Ford introduced the Bronco in 1965, off road racing was a logical way to promote the truck. So, in association with Bill Stroppe Racing, Broncos were entered into the Baja 500 and Mexican 1000 races. In 1971, after winning both of these events, Ford offered specially prepared Baja Broncos at selective dealers.
